Seniors in Illinois, aged 65 and over, are eligible to ride mass transit for free. In the Chicago and north suburban area, this means that seniors are eligible for free rides on Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), Metra and PACE Bus routes. Seniors must have either the Senior Reduced Fare Card or the Senior Ride Free Smart Card in order to ride for no charge. For more information, call RTA at 846-7000.
